I am so honored to have photographed Sandra & Andrew’s wedding, featuring minimalist floral design and an incredible dance floor. These elements together created a perfect mix of a romantic, outdoor ceremony, but an overall fun time for the guests as well. The Woodlands at Algonkian was the perfect venue in terms of space, and lighting in the reception hall. I especially loved photographing the toasts and first dances with the string lights lining the windows when the sun went down! This wedding was planned by Passionate Weddings, and more vendor information is listed at the end of this post.
The part of the day that hit close to home for me occurred during the ceremony. I am Latina, and so is Sandra and many of the vendors, which made our connection special (and the food and music amazing!). During the ceremony, Andrew, whose first language is not Spanish, started reading his vows in Spanish. I definitely cried. It was also incredible touching how far some of Sandra’s family members had to travel to attend the wedding. One family member only just made it from the airport and surprised Sandra while we were out taking couple’s portraits. The kicker: they haven’t seen each other in years. Yep, I cried again.
All this to say, this was a gorgeous, beautiful celebration of love bringing two people from different cultures together. I still look back at these images in awe, and if you can believe it, they look even better in the album. Another highlight (and beautiful idea) was the private last dance the couple had before their super fun LED sparkler exit!
