By far my favorite season in Virginia is SPRING! Don’t get me wrong, fall is a strong competitor, but when you factor in that the sun sets at 8pm and there’s gorgeous golden hours after thunderstorms, it’s a no-brainer for me. The beauty of a fall wedding is that you get the best of both worlds! A wedding in the fall, and engagement photos in the spring. Check out these cuties at Meadowlark Gardens getting cozy & practicing for their wedding day photos!
I am no plant expert, but every time I see an allium (purple lollipop flowers seen in the photos below), I start daydreaming about my own garden someday. I love using plants as foreground when photographing in locations like this! I think it adds a bit of interest to the frame.
During engagement sessions, I’m also always considering: connection, composition, background, and mood! Black & white images are my favorite way to add romantic elements. Sometimes I’ll opt for sepia based on the original colors of the scene or the couple’s vibe. 💛
With engagement photos like these, I can only imagine how adorable their wedding photos will look in just a few months! If you are searching for an engagement session photographer or wedding photographer, reach out! I create custom proposals for clients and include engagement sessions in most packages based on your preferences. 🙂
